Clay does it again

For all of you who are thinking about content, and metadata or put more simply - drowning in information organization overload - Clay Shirky has just posted his latest piece on categories, links and tags (or as Bob Frankston refers to it - 'intrinsic ambiguity and reinterpretation'). It's a good read that also relates to this study (thanks Steve Newcomb) on "smart content" entitled the "Future of Electronic Publishing to 2010" commissioned by Salzberg Research for the European Commission et al.

Interesting both in how they think about content, categories and publishing in the organic world of blogs, wiki's and tags, where information 'belongs' to everyone. For my non-geek blog readership - the way data is organized and "tagged" on the web can have a powerful impact on how busineses and marketing types can find like minded groups --i.e. customers.

OK--Out of the ivory tower and back to work..;)
