Yes, the Fashion Industry has discovered blogs. This week is Fashion Week in NYC and I had a blast participating in a panel with a really passionate group of fashion bloggers: Fashiontribes.com, The Sartorialist, and Confessions of a Casting Director as well as Constance White, Fashion Director at Ebay.com. It is invigorating to be around an industry that is just now realizing the "power of the blog". Many designers and brands are still caught in the 'fear and doubt' stage, but the press is getting the idea and is getting on board. After all, Fashion and Blogging are a perfect match - creativity, self-expression, vision. The trick will be to get the designers and brands to give up some control and truly embrace the creativity and community bumbling up from the street. The new design stars will not (only) be discovered by Vogue or Elle - they will be discovered within the online world and spread like wildfire.
