Couldn't have said it better myself

I love this recent post by George SIlverman entitled - Disturbing memo to marketers. Thanks to the latest WOMMA newsletter for including it. If you are working in marketing today - post it somewhere, so you can refer to it. The main point is that the customer comes first. Now, you may be saying --duh. But the truth is that up until recently most company's put the customer last and could--unfortunately get away with it, but this is changing - fast - thanks to many of the new changes in technology (blogs), advertising and word of mouth. Over the course of my career I have been shocked at how many companies put the customer last. I've been watching this happen since my first marketing job at Citibank --where unfortunately this was more often the case than not. Thankfully, I am one of the lucky marketing folks who gets to work at a company and with products that live by the rule of respecting our customers and speaking honestly and directly to them. The reward is a great dialogue with our customers, feedback and respect.

You may not be able to initiate all of George's ideas but even one is a good start..way to go George!
