Way behind on my blogging in general but specifically about BlogOn 2005 - so here goes -

I had a great time speaking at the second annual BlogOn Summit on Social Media in NY a few weeks ago. It was odd to be visiting NY and staying in a hotel but it was great to see some of the 'old gang' and to get a chance to discuss the impact of blogging on marketing and most importantly communicating with customers.

Thanks to my fellow panelists Steve Rubel, Shel Israel and Vicki Warker. Nothing like a bit of friendly debating to get the juices flowing. One t ake-away for me was how the bridge between alpha-bloggers and the rest of the universe is wider than most bloggers would like to admit. In a world where transparency, authenticity and consumer-generated content is critical, the marketing and communication professional functions as a facilitator. I will be writing more on this in the coming weeks - so stay tuned.
