In the words of Mark Twain, and the rest of the universe, "the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated".

Happy to note all the noise about A-B-C blogging, Alpha-blogging, Authority and the like, but really. I just want to learn, read, share cool stuff.

It was bound to happen, the power law curve vs the long-tail slugging it out in the "ego-ring" of the blogosphere.

At a recent 'tech-girl geek get together' innocence identities>innocence identities>, this precise subject was raised with rolled eyes - yes, link-love is important to get noticed, but with patience, perserverance and just plain unique good comments, good content and good niches seem to "miraculously" find each other.

So, in the age of better search and tagging tools, how relevant is the alpha blogger and technorati rank?
